Marcia holds a bachelor's degree in Pedagogy (English) from the Pontifícia Universidade Católica (PUC-RJ). Prior to starting out in the field of translation she worked as an English teacher for 22 years and as an examiner for Cambridge exams such as CAE, CPE and FCE. She has worked as a full-time translator since 2003 and has experience with a wide range of subjects and areas, including Occupational Health and Safety, Marketing, Subtitling, Management, IT, Medicine, Legal, Game Localization, Creative Writing, Post Editing and Copywriting. Marcia has taken five courses over 2021 and is always seeking to improve her skills and broaden the scope of her translation activity.
