Kerstin’s passion and enthusiasm for languages and cultures emerged at a very young age when she felt attracted to the allure of the exotic and the foreign. After completing her degree in Communications Management at Bayerische Akademie für Werbung und Marketing, Munich, she worked for several years in PR and Communications. In 2001, she moved to Spain where she studied Tourism Management at the University of La Laguna, Tenerife, after which she worked in Event Management and Tourism Development. Driven again by her keen interest in languages, she decided to continue her studies in the field of Translation and Interpretation (BA in Translation and Interpretation, with a focus on economic, financial and legal translation, and MA in Translation Studies from Universidad Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, Spain). In 2008, Kerstin became a full-time freelance translator, specializing in the translation of legal, economic, medical and commercial documents from Spanish/English/Catalan into German. In 2014, she was certified as a sworn translator of German and Spanish (München Regional Court). She joined KennisTranslations as a translation services provider in 2011 and started working in commercial development in 2014.
