José holds a bachelor's degree in Philosophy from the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa. He spent three years studying in Shanghai and Beijing, where he completed the Advanced Level Course in Mandarin at the Beijing Language University (Beijing Yuyan Daxue) in 2009. Since then he has worked as a translator and proofreader, specialising in translating from Mandarin into Portuguese. As a partner of KennisTranslations, besides working as a translator/proofreader, he is also responsible for managing translation projects, particularly those in which Mandarin is the source or the target language.
