Alzira Arouca holds a Bachelor's degree in Language and Literature (Portuguese) from the University of São Paulo and a Postgraduate degree in Communication and Culture from the University of Lisbon. Additionally, she studied Classical Piano at the Paulistano Musical Conservatoire in São Paulo and completed the ‘Propadeuse’ [First-Year Diploma] at the Amsterdam Conservatoire, which is part of the Amsterdamse Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Amsterdam. In the Netherlands, aside from working in the field of International Relations, she was a member of the editorial team of the defunct magazine Oye Listen, which specialised in Latin American music. In this role, she interviewed many of the leading names in world music. In 2002 she moved to Lisbon, where she devoted herself exclusively to the field of culture, working as a press officer, consultant and talent manager, among other roles, for several music agencies in Portugal. In 2007, however, she shifted her focus to international management, representing prominent names in the world of jazz, classical music, and traditional music, particularly fado, in Portugal. She has worked with KennisTranslations as a translator and reviser since 2010 and has joined the group as a Partner.
