After graduating in Applied Chemistry from Universidade Nova de Lisboa, he took up a science research fellowship between 1995-1998 at ITQB, the Universidade Nova’s scientific research and advanced training institute. He was Commercial Director of WebDifusão Lda, Managing Partner of Barents, Lda., Director of the Portuguese National Cruising Association and member and employee of the Portuguese educational sailing organisation APORVELA, where he qualified as an Ocean Yachtmaster. He worked at Ecosphere, Lda., as technical coordinator of the Legis-PALOP project, a legal database of the Portuguese speaking African countries and, on a freelance basis, for Lisbon University’s Faculty of Pharmacy. His professional career has spanned many areas, from chemistry, IT, energy, cosmetics, sailing and the development sector. Holding both technical and managerial posts within these environments enabled him to maximise synergies and draw on his cross-sector knowledge. He has extensive experience of translating technical and scientific texts in the fields of chemistry and biology, as well as more general texts on science and many other subjects. He joins KennisTranslations as a Partner, with specific responsibility for marketing.
